Ozark Jon Boat Plans

0

The johnboat is a long, narrow, flat-bottomed wooden boat designed for fishing the pools (called eddies) of the ozark rivers and floating over the swift shallow riffles. it floats downstream with the current and is paddled by one person in the back using a light-weight paddle.. Here is a pretty nice article on the ozark john boat-sim to the ozark drift boat. i enjoyed it. i'm intrigued by these boats. the fella that runs longboat outfitters, kyle, built an ozark drift boat from jim michalak's plans- not featured in this article but none the less related.. A few years ago, i built a couple of jon boats, one with a 40 inch bottom, and one with a 32 inch. the 40 inch was really stable, the 32 was less so naturally, but still better than a canoe. the 32 inch paddled better than a canoe imo..

Myron gorski jr. from florida usa sent me an email the other day. he has been working on his 16' ozark float boat and has now completed the boat. he wrote that he had modified the design a bit making it 6" wider for better stability and load capacity. enjoy the pictures of this amazing boat…. Wooden boat plans and kits - christine demerchant, wooden boat plans and kits. many boat plans are offered online. at first everything is very confusing, then you start to get some idea of the different types of boats.. Ozark style jon boat build. discussion in 'wooden boat building and restoration' started by josh907vest, apr 1, pretty deep in the main channels and up to a mile wide at some points. so i think ive decided on building a ozark jon boat. i need a boat that can get into tight spaces on the river, carry a outboard, be able to carry plenty of.
