When we bought the boat, we inherited big blue and white striped cushion pads. I knew the foam inside was in good shape, so we hung onto them. Finally, I get to chop them up and reuse them!
We have a need for seating on our little boat, and I love the idea of a couple built-in chaise longues on the bow. I used a few lengths of aluminum square tubes and a few corner brackets to create frames for the backs of the chairs. I plan to add webbing across the frames to better support the cushions.
Once the frames were complete and attached to the deck I did a lot of measuring and cut the closed-cell foam to shape. I've ordered fabric and am hoping my upholstery guy returns soon from his summer break so we can get these chairs finished up before too long.
