Galley Counter Tops

0

Counter tops have been the next big item to install.  At one point I had no idea how I was going to get it all built, since the stern section was my woodworking shop.  Fortunately, being able to use Pearl as our new work are has been a game-changer in finishing out the build of the stern.  It has also provided plenty of free entertainment for all of our friends on charter boats who get a kick out of me and my saws.

First step in counter installation was to make cardboard templates of each section.  Once I had templates I simply traced the shapes onto three-quarter inch plywood and cut them to fit.  There was a little shaving to get the perfect curve against the hull, but it was minimal.  Sasha gave me a hand lugging around these pieces of plywood and it's a good thing because they were heavy!

All my counter tops are now in place.  My next step is to arrange and weld together my sinks, then cut a huge hole to install them.
